Rolling the dice or being cheap

Last Mexico trip was delayed due to sticking oil pressure valves. I had been watching some oil pressure fluctuations for a year but thought it was oil related. Turns out it was the valves and the emergency fix was to smooth the barrels and housing with fine sandpaper. That resolved the problem but wondering whether to consider fixed or replace them now. Like every bus part, nothing is cheap so would rather keep the card in the wallet.

It seems this is a slow not catastrophic damaging problem, unlikely to strand me. Should I replace now and repeat the joy of doing it voluntarily or deal with it should it reappear?
