We are trying to get fall harvest started around here. Lincoln Nebraska area. We keep getting rain which is normally a good thing, after five dry years but its time to dry up for fall harvest. Yesterday in Lincoln diesel was $6.20 and gas was $4.20 this AM diesel was the same and gas had went up twenty cents over night. Normally I buy my road diesel as I need it and as much as I can at Sam's club as in our area they are normally the cheapest. Last year in Dec before the end of the year I bought all my fuel needs for 2026 road diesel, farm diesel and propane. As it turned out that was a smart move. It will be nice running some cheaper fuel for harvest. Have a buddy that runs a small fleet of trucks ten and these fuel costs are eating them alive. Freight is getting tough.

I am not much on government regulations but the Airlines and Trucking industries I believed work better with regulations>I was told for years that Yellow Freight and Consolidated would fail you can run a 350 thousand truck and trailer on the highways that were designed for 80,000 lbs with only a partial load of 10 or 15,000 lbs of freight, The independent small trucking companies have a tough road ahead I have seen some rigs setting for days waiting on a load and then get ripped of by a broker not paying
